Dr. Matthew Kappus

My mother was a dedicated nurse, and I learned early on what a privilege it is to be involved in the care of others. As a physician, I strive to take care of my patients as if they were a close family member. I have spent most of my career teaching other physicians how to practice gastroenterology, and I always impart to them the importance of being thorough and thoughtful in their evaluations. I see adult patients with a variety of gastroenterology conditions, such as heartburn, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. I have a special interest in performing colon cancer screening and performing diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower endoscopy. Outside of my work, I love to spend time with my family and play board games, bike, and engage in the occasional indoor snowball fight.
