Amir A. Schricker, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disorders. He uses specialized medications and procedures to care for patients with all types of irregular heart rhythms (or arrhythmias), including atrial fibrillation (AFib), atrial flutter, ventricular tachycardia (VTach or VT), premature ventricular contractions (PVC), and all supraventricular tachycardias (SVT) such as atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT), Wolff-Parkinson White Syndrome (WPW), and atrial tachycardia (ATach or AT).Dr. Schricker has a special interest in atrial fibrillation treatment, including performing ablation, preventing strokes using warfarin/Coumadin and the newer blood thinning medications, and implanting left atrial appendage (LAA) closure devices such as Watchman and LARIAT. His research focuses on investigating mechanisms of atrial fibrillation. He has co-authored many abstracts and journal articles, and his work has appeared in Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Circulation: Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology, and Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, among others.Dr. Schricker completed fellowships in cardiology and clinical cardiac electrophysiology at UC San Diego School of Medicine, where he also completed a residency in internal medicine. He earned his medical degree from University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. Dr. Schricker holds a master's degree in biomedical engineering from Johns Hopkins University. He is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology.
