Dr. Antonio H. Frangieh

Dr. Antonio Halais Frangieh is a UCI Health cardiologist who specializes in interventional cardiology and structural heart disease.He is an internationally regarded expert in structural heart disease therapies, including transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), mitral and tricuspid valve repair and replacement, left atrial appendage closure, paravalvular leak closure, closure of atrial septal defects and patent foramen ovales, and complex percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).Frangieh earned his medical degree at Saint-Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon, where he completed a residency in internal medicine and cardiology. He received fellowship training in interventional cardiology at Zurich University Hospital in Switzerland, followed by fellowship training in structural heart interventions at the German Heart Center Munich, which is affiliated with the Technical University of Munich in Germany. He also holds a master's degree in public health from the Lebanese University in Beirut.Upon completing his structural heart fellowship, Frangieh served as an attending interventional and structural cardiologist at the Munich heart center and helped found the Munich Structural Heart Institute. He also served as a part-time attending interventional and structural heart specialist at the Hôtel-Dieu de France University Hospital in Beirut.
