Dr. Brian C. Lenczewski

Dr. Lenczewski earned his medical degree from New York Medical College in 2002. He completed two general surgery residencies, first at Long Island Jewish Health System’s North Shore University Hospital and then at Akron City Hospital with Summa Health Systems. Dr. Lenczewski completed fellowship training in surgical critical care at Westchester University Hospital in New York. He is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. With diverse surgical expertise including trauma surgery, Dr. Lenczewski is highly trained to treat patients with a wide array of emergent problems, from hernias and gallbladder failure to extensive traumatic injuries. He recognizes that a human approach is critical to helping emergency room patients through their desperate time of need. In particular, Dr. Lenczewski’s goal is to ensure that his patients understand what the surgical team is about to do and know that he empathizes with what they are going through. Dr. Lenczewski believes in taking a step back with every patient and every operation to think about how he would want a physician to treat his loved one in that situation. He derives satisfaction from discovering who each person is, resolving their problem and maintaining open lines of communication throughout the process. Originally from New York City, Dr. Lenczewski is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He lives in Newport News with his wife and their four children. Outside of work, Dr. Lenczewski enjoys outdoor activities, along with playing baseball and basketball and spending time with his family.
