She then completed her internship and residency in General Surgery at the University of Michigan, including 2 years as a Clinician Scholar in the National Clinician Scholars Program at the University of Michigan where she earned her Master’s degree in Health and Healthcare Research. She completed the Colon & Rectal Surgery Fellowship at the University of Minnesota, and returned to the University of Michigan as an Assistant Professor of Surgery.Clinical Specialization: Dr. Harbaugh’s clinical practice includes the evaluation and management of benign and neoplastic diseases of the small bowel, colon, rectum, and anus. She has a particular interest in the use of laparoscopic and robotic techniques for the management of colorectal cancer, diverticular disease and inflammatory bowel disease.
