Dr. Charlene E. Mcevoy

I've always been service-oriented, and over the years, my love of physiology, health and fitness led me to pulmonary medicine. In my practice, I enjoy helping people and making a difference in their lives. I like to treat my patients the way I would treat a member of my family. I went to medical school then followed with residencies in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine all at the University of Minnesota. I also completed a master's in public health with a focus on epidemiology at the University of Minnesota. I founded the Asthma Center at the HealthPartners Specialty Center and continue as co-director to this day. I am also currently the Department Head for the Regions Sleep Center. My special interests include sleep and obstructive airway disease, chronic cough, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and bronchiectasis. I conduct research in asthma and COPD as well as sleep in adults, and I am a co-investigator in the National Institutes of Health-sponsored COPD Clinical Research Network and COPD gene trials. I'm married and have four children. My idea of relaxing is working out; I enjoy rowing, running, circuit training, biking and cross-country skiing. I'm also an avid volunteer and serve on the boards of several non-profit organizations.
