Dr. Christopher Herron is a board-certified and fellowship-trained pediatric cardiologist with Orlando Health Children's Heart Institute. His specialties include cardiac catherization, congenital heart disease, placement of stents and balloon dilation of vessels and valves, and treating premature neonate PDAs via device closure He earned his degree in osteopathic medicine from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Dr. Herron completed his residency in pediatrics at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent in Indianapolis and was chief resident in his final year. He performed a pediatric cardiology fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, where he was administrative chief fellow in his final year. Dr. Herron then went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric interventional cardiology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in Ohio. Dr. Herron is board certified in general pediatrics and pediatric cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Pediatric and Congenital Interventional Cardiovascular Society. He has produced more than a dozen research articles about cardiac catheterization. His current interests include the effects of transcatheter PDA closure and its effect on premature neonates and outcomes after transcatheter pulmonary valve replacement.
