Overview
Hearing and balance are among the most fundamental ways people interact with the world. As an ENT doctor, otologist, and neurotologist, I am very fortunate to work in a profession that allows me to help patients having problems with these most basic functions. Every patient I work with presents a unique and challenging problem that needs a creative solution. Whether is it surgery to remove a complex tumor at the base of the skull, placing a cochlear implant to restore hearing to the deaf, or diagnosing a complex balance problem, I am motivated to work with my patients to come up with a custom solution to their personal problem. I measure my success by my patients’ improvement and satisfaction.

1 Clinical Trials
Duke Cancer Center
I am a medical oncologist and researcher who specializes in treating patients with lung cancer and head and neck cancer. I’ve been at Duke for eight years. I first realized I wanted to become a doctor in graduate school, because it gave me the opportunity to practically apply scientific evidence to help others. What I love most about my job is working with our research and clinical staff to come up with new and hopeful therapies for patients. When a patient comes to see me, I look at their past and current medical history, review their lab tests, and then work with a team to figure out which treatment would work best for them. If a patient comes from far away, we try to make sure we can fit in visits with all the relevant specialists before they leave. Outside of work, I enjoy exercising with friends and spending time with my children at their various activities. Dr. Ready is highly rated in 17 conditions, according to our data. His top areas of expertise are Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC), Lung Cancer, Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC), and Lung Adenocarcinoma.
Duke Otolaryngology South Durham
As a nose and sinus specialist, I am aware of the impact that a sinonasal disease can have on a patient's life. Therefore, I strive to understand each patient's symptoms, perform a thorough assessment, and use the latest technologies to help my patient. Sinus disease is often a chronic disease, and I hope to form a long-term partnership with my patients. Dr. Jang is highly rated in 17 conditions, according to our data. His top areas of expertise are Sinusitis, Chronic Rhinosinusitis with Nasal Polyps (CRSwNP), Nasal Polyps, Balloon Sinuplasty, and Endoscopy.
Duke Clinic Voice Center - Clinic 1F
Voice is central to human communication, social interaction, identity, and may be critical for professional success. Many professionals depend on having a good voice, including teachers, singers, clergy, attorneys, and call center operators. Swallowing and breathing are also vital life functions and problems in either area can lead to significant reduction in quality of life. I am grateful to have the opportunity to help people every day who are experiencing voice, breathing or swallowing problems. My goal is to collaborate with patients in a team-based, interdisciplinary approach to restore patients' voices and ability to communicate and perform, swallow, and breathe. I work with patients to personalize treatment decisions to fit their individual needs. This may include medical treatments and/or surgical interventions, as well as voice and swallowing therapy in collaboration with my speech-language pathology and singing voice specialist colleagues. Dr. Cohen is highly rated in 12 conditions, according to our data. His top areas of expertise are Spasmodic Dysphonia, Laryngitis, Perichondritis, Glossectomy, and Endoscopy.
