Dr. Joseph Cali earned his medical degree at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb. He completed his internship and residency in general surgery at Boston University and a fellowship in rectal surgery at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). Dr. Cali, who has been in practice in Houston since 1993, is board certified in both general surgery and colon and rectal surgery. His clinical interests are colon cancer, hereditary colon cancer, rectal cancer, polyposis disease, advanced colon polyp removal, colon cancer screening, anal cancer, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, hemorrhoids, hemorrhoid banding, anal fissure, anal fistula, anal abscess, constipation, rectal prolapse, and robotic colon and rectal surgery. He treats patients ages 16 and older and speaks limited Spanish. A fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery, Dr. Cali also serves as an assistant professor of surgery at McGovern Medical School.
