Dr. Rashid Syed

Rashid Z Syed, M.D., is a Transplant Hepatologist with board certification in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. After graduating from Aga Khan University Medical College, Dr. Syed did his Internal Medicine residency at New York Medical College/Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. Dr. Syed then completed a Transplant Hepatology fellowship at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL followed by a Gastroenterology fellowship at Oschsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. He then worked as an Assistant Professor and Transplant Hepatologist for 7 years at University of South Florida/Tampa General Hospital before joining the Medical City Dallas Transplant Institute in 2024.

Dr. Syed’s clinical interests include liver transplantation, alcohol-related liver disease, metabolic dysfunction associated liver disease (MASLD), hepatitis B, hepatitis C, auto-immune hepatitis, primary biliary cholangitis, primary sclerosing cholangitis, acute liver failure, cirrhosis and liver cancer.
