I work with patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. I enjoy building long-term relationships and trust with my patients whose lives revolve differently than others as they live with diabetes. Keeping the individual challenges of diabetes care in mind, I like to individualize and simplify treatment regimens. What one person needs is very different than the other to be engaged in self-care. I like getting to know patients and finding out what works for them. Beyond diabetes, I take care of patients with thyroid disorder – hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism, hyperparathyroidism, pituitary adenoma, adrenal disorder, osteoporosis, lipid disorder and obesity. I am kind, compassionate and enjoy being an advocate for my patients.

As Executive Director of the IDC, I also participate in training professionals in the US and internationally and publishing diabetes educational materials for patients and professionals. Translating new research findings into improvements in diabetes care is my major professional focus. We are finding that the best approach to improve care is by working as a team and to focus on the needs of each patient.
