Dr. Sherif Khalil is a native of Houston. After finishing an undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University, he earned his medical degree and completed a residency in ophthalmology and fellowship training in ophthalmic plastic surgery at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). Board certified in ophthalmology, Dr Khalil has been in practice since 1999. His surgical practice focuses on two primary areas: no-needle, no-stitch cataract surgery and plastic surgery of the eyelids. He provides personal attention to detail before, during, and after surgery for each patient. Dr. Khalil is an active member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is the acting chief of the Ophthalmology Department at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center. His charitable work includes involvement with Friends of Egyptian Children with Cancer, Benevolent Missions International, Houston Eye Associates Foundation and Coptic Orphans. He has performed cataract surgery on underserved patients in Belize through Benevolent Missions International. Dr Khalil resides in the Memorial area with his wife and three children. His favorite leisure activities are jogging, reading and cooking out with family and friends.
