James P. Celebrezze Jr., MD, FACS, FASCRS, is an assistant professor of surgery at the University of Pittsburgh in the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery. He cares for malignancies of the colon, rectum, and anus with a focus on robotic and minimally invasive surgical techniques. He specializes in colon and rectal cancer surgery, diverticulitis, and inflammatory bowel diseases, such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and also specializes in benign anorectal conditions such as hemorrhoids, fistula, and fissures.Dr. Celebrezze is board-certified in general surgery, as well as in colon and rectal surgery. He received an undergraduate degree from Youngstown State University in Ohio. He then received a medical degree at Northeastern Ohio University, College of Medicine in Rootstown, Ohio. Dr. Celebrezze completed a residency in general surgery at Akron City Hospital in Ohio and a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at Cleveland Clinic.Dr. Celebrezze is a member of professional and scientific societies, such as the American College of Surgeons, American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America- Western Pennsylvania Chapter, and the Pittsburgh Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
