Dr. Javier Acevedo is a cardiologist with the Orlando Health Heart and Vascular Institute specializing in electrophysiology. Dr. Acevedo’s Training He earned a bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular biology and microbiology from the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Dr. Acevedo received his medical training at Ross University in Portsmouth, Dominica. He completed residencies in internal medicine at Hospital de Ia Concepcion and Ramon Betances Hospital-Mayaguez Medical Center in Puerto Rico. Dr. Acevedo completed fellowships in primary care education in medicine and cardiovascular diseases at the VA Caribbean Healthcare System in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and in clinical cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Florida in Jacksonville. About Dr. Acevedo Dr. Acevedo is triple board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and certified by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Before joining Orlando Health, Dr. Acevedo worked at a hospital-based practice in Central Florida. He also established a solo cardiology private practice in an underserved area of Puerto Rico. Outside of work, he likes playing guitar and bass, singing, learning German and reading about astrophysics. Dr. Acevedo also enjoys spending time with his family and participating in the education of his children. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
