He has been a principal investigator in the studies leading to the acceptance of TAVR and MitraClip.Dr. Brown earned his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College, now called Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences, in New York City. He remained at Cornell to complete his general surgery residency as well as a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery where he served as instructor in his final two years.Dr. Brown has been involved in a number of clinical research projects, either as principal or co-investigator. Many of these studies are continuing to enroll and follow up.Dr. Brown is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Chest Physicians, and the American College of Cardiology. His extensive professional associations include membership in the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and both the New Jersey and New York Societies of Thoracic Surgery. He is the recipient of numerous awards and has been chosen consecutively for more than two decades as one of New Jersey’s Top Doctors by New Jersey Monthly magazine.
