Dr. Ahmad K. Zankar
Overview
Ahmad Zankar, M.D., FACC, is fellowship-trained in general cardiology and interventional cardiology from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and board-certified in general cardiology, echocardiography, interventional cardiology and nuclear cardiology. He brings nearly a decade of clinical, research and training experience to Presbyterian Heart & Vascular Group. Zankar’s areas of specialization include minimally invasive, non-surgical therapy for heart and peripheral vascular disease; heart stent procedures; and complex peripheral vascular disease treatments, including laser, atherectomy and totally occluded artery techniques.Zankar attended medical school in Lebanon before coming to the United States for his residency training at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology. His previous work includes serving as an assistant professor in the Cardiology Division at UT Southwestern Medical School and as acting director for the Congestive Heart Failure Clinic and Transplantation Services at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, both in Dallas.
