He earned his medical degree at Sun Yat-Sen University of Medical Sciences in China. He completed his general surgery residency at St. Agnes Healthcare in Baltimore, Md., before going on to complete his colon and rectal surgery fellowship at Saint Vincent Health Center in Erie, Pa.
