Brad Dicianno, MD, is a physiatrist and bioengineer and is certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is the Medical Director of the UPMC Center for Assistive Technology, Director of the UPMC Adult Spina Bifida Clinic, and Medical Director and COO of the Human Engineering Research Laboratories. He also is a Professor, Endowed Research Chair, and Assistant Dean for Medical Student Research at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed his residency at UPMC.Dr. Dicianno’s clinical interests are in the areas of spina bifida and assistive technology. His research interests lie at the intersection of disability, assistive technology, and value-based care. Specifically, he is interested in studying how technologies can improve outcomes for people with disability and improve the delivery of health care and community-based services.
