Dr. Anthony Estrera is a graduate of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas. He completed a residency in general surgery and a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Board certified in surgery and thoracic surgery, Dr. Estrera’s clinical interests include cardiac surgery, valvular heart disease, aortic aneurysms and aortic dissection. His clinical interests include robotic mitral repair and replacement; robotic coronary arterial bypass; robotic MAZE procedures; robotic aortic valve replacement; right anterior thoracotomy; ascending aortic replacement and myectomies; transcatheter approaches, including transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR). He is also a recognized expert in surgical heart failure and transplantation, including mechanical circulatory support. Dr.Ramzy is the chief of cardiac surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston and the medical director and surgical director for the Heart & Vascular Institute at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center. Author of more than 115 peer-reviewed publications and more than 200 abstracts, he also serves as an editorial board member for The Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.
