Dr. Joseph M. Choi

Dr. Joseph Choi is a specialty care physician board certified in neurology and neuromuscular medicine. He joined Inova in 2023 and has been practicing since 2009. Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Choi worked as a staff neurologist and neuromuscular specialist at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. He also worked at MidAtlantic Permanente Medical Group as the regional neuromuscular specialist. Dr. Choi’s clinical areas of interest include neuromuscular disease, particularly patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), myasthenia gravis and muscular dystrophy. He enjoys working with patients with ALS, myasthenia gravis, spinal muscular atrophy, inflammatory myopathy, chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, acute inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, Guillain-Barré syndrome and muscular dystrophy. Dr. Choi believes that care should be patient focused, where the patient’s team meets the physical and emotional needs of the patient. His goals are to provide accurate diagnosis, appropriate treatment plans and patient-focused care. Outside the office, Dr. Choi enjoys playing tennis and biking.
