"Marc Lehrer Greenwald, MD, is the chief of colorectal clinical services and surgeon-in-chief at North Shore University Hospital. He is a double board-certified colorectal surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive and sphincter sparing techniques to treat a wide range of diseases and disorders of the small intestine, colon, rectum and anus. He joined Northwell in 1991, and has held many leadership positions at North Shore University Hospital, including president of the medical staff and chair of the medical board.Dr. Greenwald established the Enhanced Recovery Program at North Shore University Hospital, implementing protocols that provide easy, safe and rapid recovery after surgery. ""The program helps patients recover faster, get home to their families sooner and have better results,"" he says.
