Omar Dorzi, MD, is the medical director of the Vascular Surgery Program at Valley, and is a board-certified general and vascular surgeon with a specialty in endovascular surgery. He focuses on carotid, aortic, and peripheral intervention. He has held research positions in carotid plaque, infrapopliteal artery intervention, and endovascular aortic aneurysm repair. Dr. Dorzi focuses on providing the safest and best medical care possible through a team approach that includes himself, the patient, and their primary care provider. He received his medical degree from University of Jordan Faculty of Medicine and graduated with honors in 1999. After completing a research position in endovascular surgery at UCLA, and then general surgery residencies at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore and University of Illinois Metro Group Hospitals in Chicago, Dr. Dorzi completed his peripheral vascular fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center, in Illinois in 2008. Dr. Dorzi has also earned numerous awards and certificates including American Board of Vascular Surgery Certification in 2009; American Board of Surgery Certification in 2006; highest grade In-service Annual General Surgery Exam 2001, 2003; and the highest grade in the National Exam in Palestine and Jordan in 1993. Dr. Dorzi enjoys spending time with his wife and children, hiking, biking, and playing tennis.
