Growing up I always loved science. A career in medicine was a natural fit for me, as it combined my love of people with my love for science. I further pursued rheumatology because it is a refreshing challenge to help people with rare diseases. There is so much opportunity for educating patients about their body, and helping them live better lives. Here at Duke Health, I collaborate with the Duke Cancer Institute taking care of patients with rheumatologic diseases and cancers. I also work with the oncologists helping manage specific patients on immune checkpoint blockades for their cancer therapy. Restoring hope to patients in order to help them achieve their goals is always my approach to individualized patient care.
