Overview

Dr. Krell graduated from Case Western University in Ohio with a major in biomedical engineering. She earned her medical degree from Washington University in Missouri and completed her internal medicine residency at Duke University. In 2003, Dr Krell completed her fellowship training in pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine at the University of Washington. Her research interest was investigating the interactions between insomnia disorders and sleep apnea. Dr. Krell spent a year working as a pulmonary specialist in New Zealand, where she helped develop a sleep medicine program. She joined Southlake Clinic in 2004 splitting her time between hospital duties as an intensive care physician and clinic work in sleep and pulmonary medicine. In 2005 she took on the role of Co-Medical Director of the Sleep Center at Valley Medical Center. Dr Krell has a special interest in women's sleep health and early recognition and treatment of sleep apnea in individuals with or at risk for heart disease. Dr. Krell is happily settled in Renton with her husband and two small children. In her spare time she remains active with soccer and running and enjoys travel and reading. *Dr. Krell was voted a Top Doctor in Seattle Met Magazine in 2019.
