I am a surgeon with a special interest in heartburn and reflux disease, as well as minimally invasive laparoscopic techniques, endoscopic surgery, robotic surgery, nutritional support and hernia surgery. I developed the region’s first Reflux Center of Excellence and have served as its director since inception. I have received national recognition for minimally invasive procedures for the treatment of heartburn and reflux, and teach and proctor other physicians both nationally and internationally. I have been a lifelong Wisconsin resident since my family moved from the Czech Republic to Milwaukee 50 years ago. I speak Czech but with an American accent. I have three sons and enjoy biking, sailing and skiing. Although I am a soso golfer, I still enjoy playing, and I love watching the Badgers and the Packers. He earned his medical degree at the University of Minnesota, where he also pursued his residency training in general surgery. He completed a vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Chicago.
