Overview
I was born and raised in Florida and, as an adolescent, was a patient of Nemours in Jacksonville. When I was 9 years old my little brother nearly died of a serious infection called hemolytic uremic syndrome, but I watched as he was healed against all odds by the hospital pediatricians. Witnessing this power of healing solidified my decision to be a pediatrician one day. Children are innocent, helpless and impressionable. Their parents are caring, protective and take their care seriously. It is because of this that the field of pediatrics is so rewarding. I completed an extra two years of schooling to earn a degree in exercise science because of my special interest in disease prevention. When I approach a new case, I take special care to form a bond with both the child and the family. I invest time in listening closely to the concerns of the parent so that they feel heard and validated.
