Karim R. Saab, MD, is a fellowship-trained hematology oncology specialist with Atlantic Medical Group Hematology Oncology. Triple board-certified in internal medicine, medical oncology, and hematology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Saab has years of teaching experience and clinical knowledge.After graduating with distinction from the School of Medicine at the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, Dr. Saab served as a research scholar and postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Surgery at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN, followed by two years as a postdoctoral research fellow at Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Children’s Hospital Boston, Transplantation Research Center, Boston, MA. He performed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Colorado, Aurora, CO, where he was awarded the internal medicine resident research publication award, followed by a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at Weill Cornell Medical College / New York-Presbyterian Hospital, New York, NY.Before joining Atlantic Medical Group Hematology Oncology, Dr. Saab worked at Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis, MN, where he also served as assistant professor of medicine at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Saab has been involved in teaching hematology and medical oncology fellows, residents, medical and physician assistant students, as well as teaching medical students at Weill Cornell Medical College. Actively involved in research, Dr. Saab has studied biomarkers for diagnosis, disease progression and response to therapy; cancer stem cell biology; and antiangiogenic therapy for solid tumors. He has been published in many peer-reviewed journals and presented at national conferences.Dr. Saab is an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, American College of Physicians, and American Physician Scientists Association. He is fluent in French and Arabic. Dr. Saab is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
His clinical expertise encompasses Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC), EGFR Positive Lung Cancer, Lung Adenocarcinoma, and Large-Cell Lung Carcinoma.
Dr. Saab is board certified in American Board Of Internal Medicine. He is actively involved in clinical research, co-authoring 1 peer reviewed article. Dr. Saab is currently accepting new patients.
