My experiences have taught me that showing you compassion and making sure you understand your health status are crucial to treating you properly. | Why I entered medicine | After graduating college, I worked in a hospital laboratory as a medical technologist, performing an array of diagnostic laboratory tests for patients. With each test, my interest grew in how a particular disease or injury altered the normal physiological processes within that patient. This prompted my decision to enter medical school. | Personal interests | I devote time to teaching, being involved in research and quality improvement projects.
