Dr. George M. Cater

George Cater, MD, MSE, is a clinical cardiologist specializing in advanced cardiac imaging, having completed additional training in Cardiac MRI, Cardiac CT, and structural echocardiography. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also certified in adult echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography and in cardiac CT by the Certification Board of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography. Cater is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed his medical degree at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University followed by an Internal Medicine residency, and cardiovascular disease and advanced cardiac imaging fellowships at the University of Pittsburgh.

His clinical expertise encompasses Atrial Fibrillation, Heart Failure, Pulmonary Edema, and Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction (HFpEF).

Dr. Cater is board certified in American Board Of Internal Medicine , National Board Of Echocardiography , and American Board Of Internal Medicine. He is actively involved in clinical research, co-authoring 8 peer reviewed articles. Dr. Cater is currently accepting new patients.
