Dr. Huy M. Phan

Dr. Phan graduated summa cum laude with honors from University of Arizona with a BS degree in Molecular Cell Biology.  He completed his Medical degree at University of Texas - Houston Medical School with a combined PhD in Molecular Genetics at MD Anderson Cancer Center.  He then pursued his  training in General Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of California – San Diego and he is board certified in both.  Dr. Phan is also board certified in Cardiac Echocardiography.  Dr. Phan has committed to serve patients in the East Valley area since 07/2012.Dr. Phan has expertise in treatment and ablation of various cardiac arrhythmias including but not limited to ventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, many forms of supraventricular tachycardia such as atrio-ventricular tachycardia (AVNRT), atrial tachycardia, Wolf-Parkinson-White (WPW), and premature ventricular contractions (PVCs). Dr. Phan has experience in many techniques of ablation for Atrial Fibrillation including: Radio-frequency (RF) ablation, CRYO-ablation, and Laser ablation. Dr. Phan employs forefront new technologies in 3-D mapping and ablation to improve outcomes and patient's safety. Dr Phan has eliminated the use of X-ray fluoroscopy in ablation procedures for atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, and supraventricular tachycardia.  This minimizes patients and staff from radiation exposure.Furthermore, Dr. Phan implants a wide spectrum of cardiac devices such as loop recorder, trans-venous pacemaker, lead-less pacemaker, defibrillator, and biventricular device (or cardiac resynchronization therapy device)   Dr. Phan also implants WATCHMAN devices for patients with atrial fibrillation to prevent strokes.Dr. Phan has also participated in scientific research and been an investigator/co-investigator in multiple clinical studies.  He has presented at many national and international conferences.  Dr. Phan is a fellow of the Heart & Rhythm Society (HRS) and American College of Cardiology (FACC)Dr. Phan speaks fluent English and Vietnamese.  He lives in Chandler with his wife Tammy who had taught special-ed children at Chandler Unified School District.  They enjoy traveling, hiking, gardening, and singing karaoke.I believe in Patient's First philosophy and Team-Work approach where healthcare professionals work together in a collegial environment to bring the best care to patients.
