Dr. Kelsey M. Desalvo

Dr. Kelsey M. DeSalvo is an endocrinologist practicing at Intermountain Health’s Salt Lake City Clinic – Diabetes & Endocrinology in Salt Lake City, Utah. She supports patients in Salt Lake City, and surrounding communities, providing expertise in fine needle aspiration (biopsy) of thyroid nodules, treating patients with thyroid cancer, and performs Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) for benign thyroid nodulesDr. DeSalvo has a passion for taking care of patients who have thyroid or endocrine disorders to ensure they are well-informed of their treatment options and have excellent subsequent care.  She enjoys taking the time to get to know her patients and strives to find a personalized, evidence-based treatment plan for them.    Dr. DeSalvo is the medical director for the thyroid tumor board conference at Intermountain Healthcare, and has served as an expert speaker in the field of endocrinology/thyroidology for various conferences in the state of Utah and was selected to sit on the American Board of Internal Medicine Standards Setting Committee for the field of endocrinology.  In her education, Dr. DeSalvo received her undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder where she was selected for the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, won the Jacob Van Ek Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement and Contributions to the University, and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She completed her medical doctorate at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus where she won several awards including the Gottesfeld Memorial Award for Overall Outstanding Student Performance and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency and her Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Fellowship at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus where she won awards for her research in the field of thyroidology.
