Overview

The medical director of neurology and stroke services at South Shore University Hospital (formerly Southside Hospital), Andrew D. Rogove, MD, PhD, DPN-N, leads a multidisciplinary team in providing top-tier care, including emergency technicians; neurosurgeons; neurointerventionalists; and physical, occupational and speech therapists. Coming to Northwell Health in 2017, Dr. Rogove helped build and shape South Shore s stroke program, which offers both advanced treatment and targeted prevention based on removing clots before strokes occur. Thanks in part to his guidance, the stroke team has been recognized by the American Heart Association s Get With The Guidelines Stroke program and has won numerous awards for its work. Dr. Rogove has a background in science research and has contributed to numerous NIH-funded studies. He has been published in diverse peer-reviewed publications, including Annals of Neurology, Current Biology, Cold Spring Harbor Symposia on Quantitative Biology, Journal of Virology and Journal of Cell Science. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology.Born and raised in New York, Dr. Rogove earned his undergraduate degree in biology from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his MD and PhD from the Stony Brook University School of Medicine (now the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University). He completed his neurology residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and is dually board certified in neurology and vascular neurology.
