His work has made a substantial impact on the growing understanding and appreciation of patient-reported quality of life after radiation therapy.Dr. Hamstra received a B.A. in Biochemistry from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan and his medical degree and Ph.D. in Pharmacology from The University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, where he also completed an internship in internal medicine and residency in radiation oncology. Dr. Hamstra is a Diplomat of the American Board of Radiology in Radiation Oncology. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology and the Radiological Society of North America.
