Overview

As a vitreoretinal surgeon, I see patients with a variety of retinal diseases. These include those treatable in clinic, such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusions and macular edema. They also include those that may require surgery, such as retinal detachments, epiretinal membranes, vitreous floaters, and macular holes. I have experience treating intraocular inflammation, retinal dystrophies and patients with intraocular tumors. I particularly enjoy using the advanced imaging technologies that have revolutionized retinal care in the past 15 years. We are now able to visualize structures and pathologies that were previously unknown to even exist – it is an exciting time to be a retina specialist! My general philosophy in clinic is to educate patients about their condition and arrive at a treatment plan together.
