David Chitty, DO, MSc is an Attending physician at the Monter Cancer Center where he specializes in malignant hematology with a particular clinical interest in acute leukemias. Board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology, Dr. Chitty maintains an active practice where he focuses on compassionate, personalized, evidence-based multi-disciplinary care. Dr. Chitty is a graduate of the Northwell Health Medical Oncology Translational Research Fellowship program. Prior to his Hematology/Oncology Fellowship, Dr. Chitty completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. A graduate of Nova Southeastern University School of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Chitty also earned a Master s in Science degree at the University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Canada in Cellular and Molecular Medicine. His work and research in the fields of medicine and oncology have been published in various peer-reviewed journals.Currently, his primary research interest is in the development and implementation of novel measurable residual disease assays. This work will allow clinicians to better implement targeted therapies into clinical practice for patients with resistant or residual disease following initial treatment. In addition, Dr. Chitty was instrumental in COVID-19 related research and continues to help push forward our understanding of COVID-19 disease in patients with cancer.
