Dr. Lekakis is a Professor of Medicine who joined the University of Miami in 2010 and became an attending physician for Hemotology/Oncology and Blood and Marrow Transplantation in 2012. He has since started the CAR-T trials, performed the first CAR-T for solid tumors, and transplanted adult sickle cell disease patients. Dr. Lekakis is a member of the USA CAR-T Consortium and several CIBMTR committees including CAR-T, Lymphoma, Leukemia, and GVHD. His main interests are CAR-T and GVHD.
