Alina G. Bridges, DO is the Director of Dermatopathology & Associate Professor in the Department of Dermatology and Anatomic Pathology at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. Previously, she served as Director of Immunodermatology at Dermpath Diagnostics in Cincinnati, OH & Emeritus Director of Dermatopathology Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Bridges has been making leadership, advocacy, & health care policy contributions as an advisor for the AMA-RUC, and as a member of the MACRA Hospital Medicine Clinical Subcommittee for the CMS. She is deputy chair of the AAD Dermatopathology Rapid Response & Mohs Committees; a member of the Health Finance Committee, Curriculum Task Force, Appropriate Use, & RBRVS /CPT Committees. She serves on the Health Policy & Work Value Policy, History, Maintenance of Certification, & Program Committee for the American Society of Dermatopathology. She is a member of the American Dermatological Association, mentorship committee for the Women s Dermatologic Society & Scientific Chair for the Noah Worcester Dermatological Society. Dr. Bridges is a nationally & internationally recognized lecturer & researcher, serving as an investigator in digital pathology, AI, bullous disorders, melanoma, pigmented lesions, psoriasis, squamous cell carcinoma, COVID & dendritic cells. She is a frequent, skilled speaker & session chair at national & international meetings on inflammatory dermatopathology, autoimmune diseases in dermatopathology, vasculitis/vasculopathy, hospital dermatology, panniculitis, infectious dermatopathology, pigmented lesions, clinicopathologic cases, drug reactions, & ulcers. Dr. Bridges is extremely dedicated to education, having mentored >100 residents, fellows, & visiting clinicians, with many of her mentees going on to outstanding careers of accomplishment, with academic appointments at Mayo Clinic, Saint Louis University, University of South Florida, Henry Ford Medical Center, University of Utah, University of Texas, University of Chicago, Scripps Clinic, University of California-Los Angeles, London, England, Harvard Medical Center, the United Arab Emirates & Turkey. Dr. Bridges has over 100 publications in well-respected journals such as the JAAD, Nature Immunology, Human Pathology, Mayo Clinic Proceedings, Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, Cardiovascular Pathology, and International Journal of Dermatology, as well as numerous book chapters, letters, and commentaries. She is on the editorial board of the JAAD.
