He completed his residency at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois where he received the Excellence in Teaching Award (2005). He then completed his fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where he was elected chief cardiology fellow. Dr. Chana finished his Interventional Cardiology fellowship at John Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
