Overview
When I started medical school, I didn't realize that otolaryngology – head and neck surgery was a medical specialty! I feel quite fortunate to have discovered it during medical school, quickly realizing that the scope of practice of otolaryngology fit my personality and interests well. I completed my residency in otolaryngology at the University of Minnesota in 2004 and never looked back. I enjoy treating the wide array of ear, nose and throat medical issues and I value every patient visit. Your visit will seem relaxed, but be assured that I am taking what you say quite seriously. While I like all areas within my specialty, I particularly enjoy treating children and performing salivary gland, thyroid and parathyroid surgery. As an assistant professor in otolaryngology at the University of Minnesota, I take a great amount of pride in teaching our medical students and residents into becoming the next generation of doctors. As department head for HealthPartners Medical Group, we have grown into a tremendous group that can treat most every aspect of our specialty.
