Dr. Arvin Bansal

Native Houstonian Dr. Arvin Bansal earned his undergraduate degree in economics from Trinity University in San Antonio and his medical degree at UT Health San Antonio Medical School. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago and a fellowship in cardiology at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston). During his cardiology fellowship at McGovern Medical School, he trained at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital-Harris Health. Dr. Bansal, who is board certified in internal medicine and cardiology, has been in practice since 2010 and treats patients 18 and older. His clinical interests include general cardiology, heart failure, heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, echocardiography, computed tomography (CT), stress testing, preventative cardiology and lifestyle modifications. He speaks Hindi, Portuguese and Spanish. Beginning with patient education, Dr. Bansal works to develop an agreement on lifestyle modifications, medication and other approaches to improve overall health. He designs treatment plans based on recent research and clinical trials, as well as what's best for each individual. He listens to patients’ concerns, makes a personal connection and builds trust, and, in turn, patients learn to value his opinion. A resident of the Texas Medical Center area, Dr. Bansal is married and the father of a young son. He enjoys traveling, playing basketball and tennis, and he has recently developed an interest in cooking.
