He completed an internal medicine internship and residency at Johns Hopkins University, followed by a Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Duke University. Dr. Gessner is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology and a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology. He is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Gessner's special medical interests include the diagnosis and treatment of conditions related to the digestive system, including the esophagus, stomach, colon, liver, gallbladder and pancreas.
