He completed general surgery residencies at the University of Florida in Jacksonville and Montefiore Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Gimbel completed a surgical oncology fellowship at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa and a surgical research fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. About Dr. Gimbel Dr. Gimbel is a board certified in general surgery and surgical oncology by the American Board of Surgery. His professional memberships include the Society of Surgical Oncology, Connective Tissue Oncology Society, Society for Melanoma Research and Trans-Atlantic Retroperitoneal Sarcoma Working Group. Dr. Gimbel has been a principal investigator in multiple clinical trials, and he has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed medical journals.
