Dr. Danny Ramzy earned his medical degree at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He earned a PhD in medical science at the Institute of Medical Science of the University of Toronto, where he also finished a residency in general surgery. He completed a second residency in cardiothoracic surgery, a fellowship in transplant and mechanical assist devices and a fellowship in aortic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Dr.Ramzy is the chief of cardiac surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston and the medical director and surgical director for the Heart & Vascular Institute at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center. Author of more than 115 peer-reviewed publications and more than 200 abstracts, he also serves as an editorial board member for The Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.
