Overview
I grew up in Wellsville, NY, south of Buffalo. My first mentor was my mother who was a pediatric nurse practitioner. For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved the outdoors and animals, and knew at a young age that I wanted to work in biology. My focus within GI is hepatology, and I’ve always been fascinated by the complexity of the liver. I’m passionate about improving the overall quality of life for children with chronic medical conditions. It’s rewarding to have the chance to impact a child’s life at an early age, and prevent problems down the line. Also, I love interacting with people, and medicine gives me the chance to meet new people – kids and parents – every day. I volunteer at Camp Boggy Creek – a camp for chronically ill kids.
