Before taking a position at Virginia Mason Medical Center, he was an assistant professor of medicine for ten years in the department of nephrology at Johns Hopkins University. He has published papers in human fluid physiology and polycystic kidney disease.Dr. Sutters loves the Pacific Northwest. He enjoys fly fishing, photography and restoring old cars during his leisure time. He also plays the violin in a local orchestra.
