Dr. Vriti Advani

Dr. Vriti Advani is a board-certified general surgeon and a part of BayCare Medical Group Gessler Clinic in Winter Haven, Florida. She sees patients aged 18 and older. Dr. Advani studied medicine in Dublin, Ireland and graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons with honors, where she earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, Bachelor in the Arts of Obstetrics Medical in 2006. She then pursued further surgical training in Dublin and was awarded the Degree of the Intercollegiate Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, England, and Edinburgh in 2009. Following this, she completed her five-year general surgery residency training at Southern Illinois School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois in 2014. In 2015, she completed her fellowship training in pancreatic surgery, biliary surgery, surgical endoscopy and ERCP at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. She has been practicing in the Winter Haven community since 2015.Dr. Advani has a broad surgical, gastrointestinal and endoscopic practice. As a general surgeon, she performs a wide range of abdominal surgeries including, but not limited to, gallbladder and biliary surgery, pancreatic surgery, stomach and acid reflux surgeries, hernia surgeries, bowel surgeries, and surgeries involving various soft tissue and skin conditions. She is a robotically trained surgeon and performs the majority of her surgeries with minimally invasive technology. Being fellowship trained in surgical endoscopy and ERCP, she offers a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures including EGD, colonoscopy, enteroscopy, and ERCP. Dr. Advani is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and the Association of Women Surgeons. She is a member of the Catholic Medical Association and is a Director on the Board of the Orlando Catholic Physician's Guild.Apart from her clinical practice, Dr. Advani is currently serving a two-year role as the vice president of medical staff at Winter Haven Hospital. She will then move on to serving another two-year term as president of medical staff in 2024. Dr. Advani is the director of general surgery and director of gastroenterology/surgical endoscopy for Winter Haven Hospital.
