Dr. Warren A. Chow is a board-certified UCI Health oncologist who specializes in melanoma and sarcomas. He serves as associate director for clinical services at the UCI Health Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center.He received his medical degree from Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Ill. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Next he received fellowship training in medical oncology, hematology and bone marrow transplantation at the City of Hope in Duarte, Calif., where he served nearly 30 years as a clinician and researcher conducting bench-to-bedside studies in both bone and soft-tissue sarcomas.The recipient of numerous research grants from the National Cancer Institute, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the Melanoma Research Foundation and many others, Chow has been the principal investigator on more than three dozen clinical trials. Dr. Stefan O. Ciurea is a UCI Health hematologist and director of the Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Program at the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center.Ciurea earned his medical degree at Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmaceuticals in Iasi, Romania. He completed an internal medicine residency at UPMC Pinnacle Harrisburg in Harrisburg, Pa. He then completed a fellowship in hematology-oncology at University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.Before joining the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center to lead its program in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy, Ciurea served for more than a decade on the faculty of the MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Department of Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy.Ciurea is the author of more than 150 peer-reviewed publications and more than 10 book chapters. He also has served as principal investigator on multiple clinical trials, including investigator-initiated trials. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital in New York City, followed by a fellowship in hematology and oncology at Wayne State University School of Medicine's Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit, Mich.Her research interests include molecular targeted therapy for lung cancer, immunotherapy and ways to improve patient outcomes. Prior to joining UCI Health, she served as an assistant professor and researcher at Wayne State and the Karmanos institute, she was the principal site investigator on more than 20 lung cancer studies.Nagasaka, who is fluent in Japanese, sees patients at the UCI HealthChao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center in Orange.
