My grandmother died of gall bladder cancer. I accompanied her to all her appointments and that experience led me to choose the field of hematology-oncology. Trust between patients and their oncologists is paramount, and I strive to be my patients' trusted friend. Open discussion of all available treatment options and active participation of the patient is extremely important to me. Making patients aware of all evidence-based treatments and ongoing clinical trials before we create a mutually agreed upon treatment plan is crucial. I am always available to discuss various issues that may arise as part of a patient's treatment plan.
