Dr. Peter C. Gerszten

Dr. Gerszten is the Peter E. Sheptak Professor of Neurological Surgery and director of the Percutaneous Spine Service at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He specializes in the treatment of spinal tumors and minimally invasive spinal surgery.Dr. Gerszten is a pioneer in the field of spinal radiosurgery and oversees the instruction of this developing area of neurosurgery for both the American Association of Neurological Surgery and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.Dr. Gerszten received his medical degree at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and completed his residency in neurological surgery and a fellowship in spinal surgery at UPMC. He also obtained a master of public health degree from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health.
