Dr. Fernando Santos Pinheiro is a board-certified neuro-oncologist at the Orlando Health Cancer Institute. He completed his residency in neurology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio, followed by fellowships in clinical neurophysiology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, New Hampshire, and in neuro-oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. About Dr. Santos Dr. Santos is board certified in neurology and clinical neurophysiology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and in neuro-oncology by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties, His professional memberships include the American Academy of Neurology, Society for Neuro-oncology and Association of American Medical Colleges. He also served as associate program director of a neurology residency program in Wisconsin. He has delivered numerous lectures, workshops and presentations on neuro-oncology and neurosurgery. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and he has written book chapters about neuro-oncology. Outside of work, Dr. Santos engages in professional advocacy and provides volunteer medical services to minority groups such as the Latinx and LGBTQA+ communities. He also enjoys tennis, traveling and playing the piano. He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
